3 Vietnamese Rice Dish Recipes

In Vietnam, rice is the soul of every meal. It is the one thing that defines their cuisines and one of the places that has a diverse number of recipes for rice dishes. Start by washing, then boiling the chicken to cook and add turmeric to the broth then leave the chicken to dry.

Mix the white rice and the sticky rice under running water for about half a minute then placing it in the boiling chicken broth. Ensure that the level of water is higher than that of the rice. Lower the heat to simmer until cooked. You can tell if the rice is cooked if it has a glossy yellow color.

Chop the cooked chicken into pieces depending on what you would prefer. Add the Vietnamese mint and the onions and serve the rice in a dish and add the lettuce and the coating sauce and your meal is ready.

  1. Baby clam rice in Huế

This is yet another dish that is considered a specialty and very often enjoyed. It is simple yet intricate and elegant in every word and fuses together many flavors that include clams.

A native of southern Vietnam, this is one of the most popular dishes there is in Vietnam. It is considered one of the most traditional foods in the country and people eat at any time for any meal. It is usually served with sweet fish sauce and grilled pork and one of the reasons why you might find it to be a great addition to your rice recipes.


  • Grilled pork chops
  • Chilli
  • Sugar
  • Garlic
  • Vinegar
  • Olive oil
  • Spring onion

  • Cucumber and tomatoes
